2019 ELYSIA PINOT NOIR
The fruit for this cuvée comes from their exposed granitic home vineyard high above the lake in Summerland. They played around with different percentages of whole-clusters, ranging from 25-75% inclusion. After 21 days on skins the wine was pressed off into neutral barrel. The wine underwent an eight-month élevage before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
2019 ELYSIA BLANC DE NOIRS
The grapes for this cuvée were hand harvested from their estate vineyard located beneath Giants Head in Summerland. Pinot Noir is planted on a decomposed granite with smatterings of limestone. Whole clusters were gently pressed into neutral barrel for fermentation and malolactic conversion. The wine is bottled with a liqueur de tirage in January. After a year on lees the wine is disgorged and finished without dosage. 12.1% ABV, 3.1 pH, 6.8 g/L TA
2019 CANYONVIEW BLANC DE NOIRS
Garth Purdy has been farming this site since 2003. It is located in a narrow gully called Trout Creek Canyon in Summerland. The sandy soils are punctuated by hunks of granite. Whole clusters of Pinot Noir were gently pressed into neutral barrel for fermentation and malolactic conversion. The wine is bottled with a liqueur de tirage in January. After a year on lees the wine is disgorged and finished without dosage. 12% ABV, 3.14 pH, 7.5g/L TA
2020 VIOGNIER PET-NAT
The grapes for this cuvée were hand harvested from their estate vineyard located beneath Giants Head in Summerland. This block consists of alluvial sediment over granite bedrock. Whole clusters were gently pressed, the juice is then added back to the skins and pressed again to extract extra aromatic intensity. Spontaneous fermentation starts in concrete. The juice is then chilled, racked, and bottled before fermentation is complete. Fermentation finishes in bottle resulting in a modestly sparkling wine. 11.2% ABV, 3.05 pH, 10 g/L TA
2019 ELYSIA SYRAH
The fruit for this cuvée comes from their exposed granitic home vineyard high above the lake in Summerland. The Syrah was destemmed onto pressed whole-cluster viognier (10%) for fermentation. The wine is gently pumped over to keep the cap damp until fermentation is complete. It is then pressed into neutral barrel for a modest élevage. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 13.5% ABV, 3.52 pH, 6.2g/L TA
2019 CANYONVIEW CHARDONNAY
Canyon View Vineyard is located in a small valley in Summerland a five-minute drive from their winery. The site is immaculate, perfectly pruned, not even a single leaf out of place. Tucked away from the lake, this is a unique mesoclimate, windy, warm, with alluvial river-stones and sandy soils. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed straight to puncheons (10% of which were new, 30% second fill, and 60% neutral). After élevage and racking, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 13% ABV, 3.1 pH, 7.3g/L TA
2018 PINOT NOIR CANYONVIEW
Canyon View Vineyard is located in a small valley in Summerland, a five-minute drive from their winery. The site is immaculate, perfectly pruned, not even a single leaf out of place. Tucked away from the lake, this is a unique mesoclimate, windy, warm, with alluvial river-stones and sandy soils. 2019 ROSÉ PET-NAT
This wine is made from Pinot Noir from their granitic estate vineyard in Summerland. They foot crushed the grapes and allowed the juice to macerate overnight under the full moon. They then racked into neutral barrel where it fermented spontaneously. Less than a week later they bottled, allowing primary to finish in bottle. The resulting wine is pink and delicately fizzy. 10.5% ABV
2018 VIOGNIER
The grapes for this cuvée were hand harvested from their estate vineyard located beneath Giants Head in Summerland. This particular block of vineyard is planted on exposed granite bedrock. The grapes were gently crushed, and the juice spontaneously fermented in concrete. After six months on lees the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 12% ABV
2018 chardonnay
Canyon View Vineyard is located in a small valley in Summerland a five-minute drive from their winery. The site is immaculate, perfectly pruned, not even a single leaf out of place. Tucked away from the lake, this is a unique mesoclimate, windy, warm, with alluvial river-stones and sandy soils. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and racked straight to puncheons (30% of which were new). April following the harvest, the wine was bottled. 13% ABV
2017 PINOT NOIR
Pinot Noir from their vineyard was hand harvested on October 8th. The soils are mostly granitic but with pockets of limestone. They played around with different percentages of whole-clusters, ranging from 25-75% inclusion. After 21 days on skins the wine was pressed off into neutral barrel. The wine underwent an eight-month élevage before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 12.5% ABV
2017 VIOGNIER
The grapes for this cuvée were hand harvested from their estate vineyard on October 15th. This particular block of the vineyard is planted on exposed granite bedrock. The grapes were gently crushed, and the juice spontaneously fermented in concrete. After six months on lees the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 12% ABV
2017 PINOT NOIR ROSÉ
This wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir planted on a combination of granite and limestone. It was harvested at the end of September to retain freshness. Whole clusters were added to a stainless-steel tank where they underwent carbonic maceration for three days. It was then pressed off into neutral puncheon where it underwent a three-month élevage. The wine is unfined, but lightly filtered. 11.9% ABV
